First Time Being In India (2nd day-2/2) Part 2 初めてのインド(2日目-2/2) Part 2 In English/ in 日本語

M.M took me to the local restaurant, I saw a McDonald full of foreigners. Apart from that I cannot see anything familiar. All the buildings are chaotic, it seems like they build another floors without plan on top of each other. So some parts are sticking out and some parts are pushed back. I thought by M 3-4 earth quake can destroy all the buildings easily…

Local restaurant was quite good, reminds me a Kebab shop in UK, cheap table, a man near the cashier relaxing and sitting leaning on his one arm on the desk, looking outside. From the outside keep hearing the car noise. No door in this place, quite hot, but inside is chilled. didn’t expect how the proper Indian food like. It was very cheap, later she took me to the textile designer’s studio. It was quite far away.

Every time we go somewhere by auto-rickishaw, the driver rip us off. M.M was always irritated about this, but she always pay what they demand. There was a guy who opens the gate for us, I bet he is just there opening the gate all day. The place was gathered by a few designers and artist. Italian product designer, an English furniture designer were there. If you go through the exhibition space, there is a big garden with a small swimming pool. Met a textile designer, M.M was ordering some clothes from him and she was dealing with it. There was a hand weaving machine and a couple industrial sewing machines, pattern cutting table. The designer was funny and friendly guy. We talked for a while and decided to do some projects together, so I needed to come a couple days there to design works with him.

We go back to the town, M.M took me to Hauz Khas Village. She runs a unique restaurant there, I said hi to some of the stuff. There is a clothes shop where she works with a fashion designer. We went to a long established restaurant. Then we discussed what we are going to make at an event we are going to do at her restaurant. Japanese food dinner party! We later went to the food market.

“Hello, Madam” all the stuff in the shop knows M.M well. We bought a lot of staff. There were all kinds of vegetables and there were some Japanese vegetable as well, that made me surprised. Various kinds for fruit, strange looking but looks tasty or disgusting and Japanese Shiitake and Shimeji and so on. The owner asked us if we want chai or not in English, he brought chai in two small cups. This was quite funny.

First Time Being In India (2nd day-1/2) Part 2 初めてのインド(2日目-1/2) Part 2 In English/ in 日本語

2012-02-28

Woke up, M.M was sleeping, A brought a breakfast and walked to the university. The university I had to have a lecture. It was very very close to the house, which is quite funny.. my friend’s friend house and the university I have contacted from Uk was just 500m away…

Walked down, very nice weather(in fact no rains in whole trip from then). Concrete wall everywhere, chanting some religious songs I could hear from neighbours garden. People on the street selling street foods. Somehow the atmosphere reminded me Japan, maybe 70’s or maybe 50’s. Relaxing and everything moving slowly (although the cars rushing).

Arrived in Uni. Doesn’t look like design institute at all. No students. I said bye to A. I asked people where the professor is. There were many cleaner. Cleaning floor and table thoroughly, but not the wall. They seem not to understand my English. So I stayed. Feel a bit uncomfortable, but pretend that I am ok. When I look at walls and sofa, they are actually extremely dirty. Like they never cleaned for 30years… pigoun’s poof everywhere. They seem that they clean everyday with 10 - 20people but only the surface… very strange.. I start feeling this inefficient India.. From that time.

I thought they forgot about me, but I was in a wrong place, when I entered the class there were 30-40 people there. Old pc and screen was there. I connected to my pc and start talking to the students. This was the first time lecturing in English, somehow did better than I thought. I guess that is the difference between English and Japanese. It is strange that they are all Indian but they understand English. I know some Indian’s first language is English. I did 1 and half hour lecture and answered some questions from them.

I went back A’s house, there is a door keep man in front of the house, door keep man but very relaxed, sitting with his little daughter. Man is very thin and he seems that he is always there. I immediately felt cultural difference in here. Man who doesn’t speak English staying in front of the house as a guard all day and everyday, and under his chair, a little baby was rolling around.

Arrived at the airport in Delhi in India. My friend M.M who I haven’t seen each other for 3 years was going to pick me up from the airport. I was waiting for her for 3-40min. I thought we had missed each other, but she was buying the simcard of the mobile at the shop, she seemed like nothing was happening. It was very her how she was. I asked “where were you?” she was waiting for me so she seemed to be a bit upset, perhaps.

I hugged her as we haven’t seen each other for a while. She gave me a simcard, but I told her my mobile is not unlocked and cannot use in India. I thought it was better buying a mobile, but the mobile in India costs a lot, not like in the UK like 5-10pounds for the cheapest mobile. M.M’s friends were waiting for us in the car. I said hi and got on the car. I haven’t gone to the trip long time. I remember how it was like when I was travelling in the Europe, but I am in India. Asia…

They drove so fast, seems like they were rushing for something. Cars are getting more crowded. Cars are so close to us or we go closer to them, car horn sounds getting louder. Why they are so speeding? I was a bit surprised, but I found that is normal here in India. Her friend called D got off on the way. I stayed at a guy called A and when we arrived his house, there were Austrian couple. It was a basement, 5-6futon was on the floor, I wondered how many people are staying this house. I found that this is A’s parents house. I tried not to put tap water into my mouth and gave a greeting to new people and sleep on the floor.

Is he guilty or not? (Anders Behring Breivik)2/2 2012/05/01

2.

He mentioned about atomic bomb in Japan, some people say that was genocide, some American say that was right things to do, because they save more life for killing. If he is guilty for this event, America is also guilty for dropping weapon.

In his mind, he thinks he did right thing. HE THINKS and He BELIEVES it. How can people change that? Perhaps he will never change his mind. So this MIND thing, is interesting. His claim is challenging us about many things. It is true that there is no evidence that atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki save many lives by killing huge amount of people, so as bombing in cities in Germany what America did, but this is war, perhaps different stories from this event.

I said about MIND, because if majority people “think” something is right, then that would be right, because no-one denies it. Also it is hard to tell what people really think and what is in their mind, defendant can pretend that they are mental.

This problem can be fit to any other matters for judgment or making rule. Crossing the street at the red right cannot be accepted in Japan, but it is quite acceptable in other countries, if there is no car, because of such a reason, this is cultural difference but rule can be changed easily by place or period of the time. For in this case, I think he does not have any prove that Islam people are invading the western countries, etc. If he is not insane, this event also question ourselves many things.

I also think that there is a danger to think that he is different from us, we are fundamentally the same, if we created murderer we should question ourselves rather than him. Problems are just in front of us or within us. Perhaps like in Japan, Norway is very peaceful country, very protected by system. Many crazy events have been happened in Japan recently, too, but I believe these events, PEOPLE are wanting them to be happened. In Breivik mind, is connected to us. In a way he is using this boredness to make us stimulate, people always need a stimulation. He is laughing at us, about this system, and he does not care if he is dead in prison or not.

We can protect ourselves in any way you want, but we will be like lions in the cage. Human needs stimulation, we cannot protect everything. We say we are happy by this system, but really? I do not think that is the true happiness. It is like the sales man who sells fake happiness comes to you, “hey this is the happiness, you have to pay this much of tax, but you will receive these, health, education, social services and so on, how great it is?” Happiness will not be delivered to you when you are 20 or even when you were born. Happiness is to create.

So, about stimulation, you do not need to kill people or receiving Tsunami for every hour to stimulate ourselves, but within our life we can stimulate each other. There are tons of problems in our world, and why people do not realise? Making our own system is also a challenge for us and stimulate us. I am trying to stimulate by myself doing art. I know that “art” is not only answer, but I do not know why that art is in the box recently and pushed away by society so much now. Design, music and art are our life and be creative is to create our quality of being human, again we do not need to harm people to stimulate ourselves, there are much more beautiful things to do. Let’s do it.

(Anders Behring Breivik)

2.

English!! you! Japanese!

English language people, English! I mean at least English. I am talking to Japanese people especially and other nationalities who are ignorant about English language, I am sorry but we need to use this language, because it is common language and most of the debates and important news online are in English. if you want to be in an island and close yourself, fine, but if you want to say that you are advance and would love to work with other countires and nationalities, you need to. that's the start, Don't say I am Japanese, I don't need that. I am fed up with listening to many Japanese who live in England and they don't even try to speak English. Why you are here? If you don't want to learn other culture and living in that culture, you are better not to be international, go back and work as a craft man, talk with nature and be a farmer(no offfence to farmer), you do not need to speak English. I am saying, because we need those people, too. Of course all of us do not need to speak English, so try not to waste everybody's time and your time. Be brave.

Is he guilty or not? (Anders Behring Breivik)1/2 2012/04/21

Anders Breivik pleaded not guilty, he think he did the right thing. Here is the point

1. Mental People can commit a crime?

2. How do you judge right or wrong?

1.
For me, if someone kills deliberately, I think they are not quite normal already. What is the border between mental and not mental? See the all the dictators or cruel murderer, they are sentenced as a criminal not a mental, but do you think they are normal? I am not an expert, but if someone is deeply mental means that they cannot deal with society cannot follow the rule, so the children crime, in the most countries, they are less responsible to what they did, and mental people just go to the hospital, and that is it. Here is the example of cruel murder it seems quite mental… see the

Tsutomu Miyazaki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsutomu_Miyazaki

Tsutomu was executed.

In Japan, they ask whether the defendant has “the ability to fulfill one's responsibilities“ or not. If the defendant does not feel guilty even he or she isn’t psycho and pretending, for me, they do not have those abilities.

I am interested in this boundary, people who know what is moral, murderer and mental people. So if mental people who might kill people should be in the hospital, but who are those people between normal and insane muderer? They are mental only when they kill people? If we talk about stealing or breaking one’s properties, everyone think that they are behaving badly, but probably those criminal cannot recognise how other people feel, once they understand they feel sorry. I met many people who are almost like murderer or dictator, they don’t care about other people, perhaps those murderer do not care if other people get killed or not, they are not educated in a certain way enough. So is he guilty? Or his parents or families are guilty? Environment? Society? Who created those murderer?

11th-16th Dec 2011 “the first time in Dubai”in English/

I went to Dubai for acting some advertisement. The cost of flight and hotel were covered by the client, and treat me so nice. I was introduced other actress and actors by staff, but as I am not good at being open for new people, I might have created the distance to them.

Arrived at hotel in the late night. Staff gave us some pocket money, and received the key. Quite large and clean room. One of the wall in the bed room, it was made by huge glass. I could see the building in front of the hotel and the tiny cars which keep following the other similar shaped ones. I felt like I had to fill something in the air in such an empty room.

Next morning, I went down to the 7th floor restaurant. It was buffet. There were various kinds of ham and cheese on the ice. Some people ordered a special omelet to the chef as well. I was confused what to eat as there are many deserts.

One of the actor of this job talked to me and ask me to join the breakfast. We were enjoyed the meal with relaxing music and calm mood in the restaurant. I could see the surrounded building and the city from the table as the walls are made of glass. He seems that he is from Normandy. We talked about 2nd world war, and he told me that there are many people who do not want to speak about that period, because many people created the false information or reported the neighbours to Nazis and getting their properties, businesses and lands. People who betrayed feel ashamed, it is a taboo in some areas.

I love to hear the story makes me think, but I did not think that I will hear the war story in a such a relaxing place. I felt that any kinds of mankind try to be higher than any others whenever they have an opportunity. It reminds me that even after the Dubai Crisis, many of poor people from countries near by work for constructing the buildings here.

When I walk down the city, 100s of men with dirty clothes looking through us from the darkness under the skyscraper. 200 eyes are staring at us. Shined, all the eyes, in the dark, looking at us with gloom? Or just simple curiosity? They are just steady and waiting for order from the boss. An article on the paper says that they are treated like slave and cheated to come to Dubai for their work.

Simply, this city, I can say only desert, skyscraper, resort, shopping mole and then beach beach beach. That is all. I am not particularly interested in coming here, but I wanted to see once. I met a friend of friend who grew up here, I wondered she has an identity or not. Most of people here might be Arab, because of the culture, but her origin is India. She speaks Arabic and English. In fact, all the cities, towns and even villages are “man-made” , but it is hard to find themselves in the city on top of desert created by human’s fantasy.

Sometimes we worked in the very early morning, but everything was so relaxed. All the staff, actress and actors are extremely kind and nice, so it was a bit like little vacation.
